Emily Howarth

Introducing, Emily - one of Bean Family Wellness’ Perinatal Family Educators.

For as long as Emily can remember, she has felt drawn to supporting families during the incredible journey of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. That passion led her to pursue midwifery, where she had the privilege of practicing in Winnipeg and caring for families throughout the perinatal period. During that time, she provided both maternal and well newborn care, supporting families as they transitioned into life with their new baby. She was also fortunate to learn in communities across Manitoba — including Brandon, Winkler, and The Pas — and to witness birth in many different settings, from home to hospital to birth centres. Each experience deepened her respect for the many different ways families welcome their babies into the world.

Through Emily’s previous work as a midwife, she came to deeply appreciate not only the birth of a baby, but the growth of parents and the entire family unit. She truly believes every family deserves to feel supported, informed, and confident as they prepare for labour and postpartum — whatever that experience looks like for them. She is especially passionate about teaching in a way that empowers families to trust themselves and their choices. She believes education should feel supportive, practical, and even a little fun, and she loves using humour to help families feel at ease as they prepare for such an important chapter.
